It’s just past 9PM on the west coast (Seattle) and I’m already in bed, almost ready to turn the lights out. I’m exhausted! What a day! I woke up at 6 AM to make sure I had plenty of time to get ready and make it to class on time. I would hate to be late on my first day (I was late my first day of high school, thanks to my brother, and never want to be that girl again).
We started training off with 3 hours of meditation, pranayama and asana. For those of you that aren’t familiar with yoga, “asana”‘is the part where we actually do the poses… The part most people identify yoga with. But, in reality, all of these pieces make up yoga (and there’s more! But more on this another time). The practice was hot and challenging and by the time we got to shavasana, I was drenched and felt like I was laying in a puddle on my mat. It was amazing! It felt so good!
The afternoon was spent getting to know the other students (we each got 3 minutes to speak), going over expectations for the month, being assigned a partner or “accountabilibuddy” as I like to say, and beginning to teach and assist a couple poses. It was a full-on day. Hence the reason I’m exhausted!
So, with that I’m going to call it a night.
More to come so stay tuned. Thanks for following along!
